Planting and Growing Instructions: 1. When to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost, or direct sow once soil warms to above 70°F (21°C). 2. How to Sow: Soak seeds in water for 6–12 hours to speed germination. Sow ¼ inch deep in seed-starting mix. Germination takes 10–21 days at 75–85°F (24–29°C). Transplant when seedlings are 3–4 inches tall and space 18–24 inches apart. 3. Growing Tips: Prefers hot, dry climates and poor to average soil. Water sparingly – overwatering can cause root rot. Harvest roots in late fall after leaves die back for maximum potency. Roots can be dried and powdered for use in capsules, teas, and tinctures. 4. Herbal & Wellness Uses: Widely used in Ayurveda as an adaptogen to support stress resilience, energy, and focus. May support thyroid health, adrenal balance, and immune function. Traditionally consumed as a root powder mixed into warm milk or tea.
