Planting and Growing Instructions: 1. When to Plant: Sow directly outdoors or in pots year-round in warm climates. In cooler climates, sow in spring or fall. Germinates quickly in warm soil. 2. How to Sow: Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, spaced closely in rows or containers. Germinates in 3–7 days at 65–85°F (18–29°C). Thin to 2–3 inches apart if growing for full leaves. 3. Growing Tips: Requires well-drained soil and regular watering. Harvest leaves at 3–4 inches tall for microgreens or allow to mature fully. Trim young shoots regularly to promote bushy growth. Entire plant is edible—seeds, stems, and leaves. 4. Culinary & Medicinal Uses: Leaves are used fresh or dried in Indian curries, dals, theplas, and stews. Rich in iron, calcium, and fiber; known to aid digestion and blood sugar control. Can be grown as microgreens or full leafy plants. Dried seeds are also used as a spice in pickles and spice blends.
